An associate specializing in hospital and medical malpractice, Ann brings 18 years of solid experience to the Medical Malpractice Defense Group.  “It’s important to put my client’s interests first,” she says.  “Despite being in an adversarial position, being civil and professional is the best way to represent my client to get the best results.  I’m also very detail oriented and thorough in the evaluation and handling of my client’s cases.”

Ann focused on pre-med studies as an undergraduate student and was accepted to medical school.  However, an intervening stint handling physician claims for The Doctors’ Company, a national, physician-owned medical malpractice carrier, ignited her interest in legal work in the context of medical malpractice and caused her to change her mind and pursue a law degree.  After law school, Ann completed a much-coveted externship at San Francisco Superior Court with Judge Ira A. Brown, one of California’s best-known trial judges and author of the acclaimed reference for attorneys, California Practice Guide’s Civil Procedure Before Trial

Ann is uniquely qualified to handle the complexity of medical malpractice claims.  Her background allows her to utilize her health care and legal studies and experience to best advantage.  “I understand how claims are handled from a business perspective, and my pre-med background helps me communicate with the doctors and nurses who are my clients.  I understand the medicine and medical as well as legal issues.”

A powerful ally and advocate for her clients, Ann’s professional expertise oftentimes includes accompanying a nurse or a resident physician to court, even though the hospital is no longer involved, and even when she is not representing them as their attorney. “I don’t get paid for it.  I don’t charge the client,” she explains, “I went to law school to do this work, with the full intent of becoming a malpractice lawyer when I finished.”
