Rina specializes in medical insurance defense. She defends hospitals and medical professionals, which include
physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses, in professional negligence cases. She also defends
health care professionals and hospitals in indemnity actions arising out of contractual agreements and other general
liability matters that arise from the operations of a medical facility and/or practice.
Prior to joining AMWT&C, Rina practiced as a patent attorney and has worked on multi-million dollar international patent
infringement cases involving cellular and mobile technologies, steel production, metallurgical sciences,
pharmaceuticals, and televisions. She has also been involved in multiple antitrust cases relating to mergers and
acquisitions of various health insurance companies and conducting Department of Justice Second Request Investigations.
Before becoming an attorney, she worked at a research laboratory at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine.
