Cary J.C. Agajanian
Managing Partner, General Liability Group
Cary J.C. Agajanian advises sanctioning bodies, promoters, venues, teams, and sponsors across motorsports, sports, recreation, and leisure, combining litigation defense with the risk documents and event structures those organizations rely on.
Mr. Agajanian's practice centers on motorsports and sports risk: who bears responsibility for an incident, how participation and spectator documents are drafted, and how event operations are structured before anything goes wrong. He has advised or represented sports and leisure sanctioning bodies including CART, USAC, Formula One/FISA, and NASCAR.
He has authored or contributed to annual and event waiver and release documents used in professional racing, and he lectures on motorsports risk management for promoters, tracks, and organizers. Earlier in his career he served nine years as a Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney.
He has participated in California Assembly and Senate committee work concerning racing sponsors, promoters, venues, sanctioning bodies, and teams.
